A flame sensor is a regulatory sensor that can sense the precise flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As with other safety devices, if the flame sensor is triggered the system will halt until the problem is fixed.
Simple signals your furnace flame sensor will have to be replaced
- The furnace will start sometimes but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- The heating system will not ramp up whatsoever
- The gas supplying the furnace finds it impossible to properly ignite and the whole system shuts down
