Your furnace cannot possible make nearly enough heated air to efficiently heat, if the heating element is damaged. The main heat element causes cold air to be heated up before the blower has it spread out through the ducts.
Major signs your primary heating element is in need of replacing
- The element looks eroded, quite rusty and in need of replacement
- The element itself will not get warm or reach max temp because it is probably worn out
- Heat is not being delivered by the system at all
