Carrier 58MSA040 Limit Switch
The limit switch is a switch in the air handler that can determine when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
Some clues limit switch is on its last leg
- The heating and AC system refuses to start nor will it stay running even though max temp has not been reached
- The whole system begins to stop suddenly repeatedly
