Carrier 58MSA080 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that senses the precise flame in accordance with the initial ignition sequence. For obvious reasons, if the sensor generated a error the whole system stops until that particular problem is fixed.
What are the signs that the primary flame sensor is almost dead?
- The heating system turns on sporadically when it feels like it
- Your heating system refuses to produce any heat and shows an error code on the board
- The propane or natural gas will not even try to begin igniting and the control shows an error
