Carrier 58MSA08012112 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat energy has to be dissipated. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the necessity of buying a fan blade too, this results in a simpler type of replacement and a little less costly, as well. Be certain you find one with the exact voltage and amps as it is on the current motor.
Major symptoms the condenser fan motor will need to be replaced
- The Carrier motor does not move at all
- A disturbing rubbing or scraping sound when the cooling fan turns
- The main cooling motor begins to smoke or throws sparks while in use
