Carrier 58MTA080 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has a unique job of keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be dissipated. The motor can be replaced sans the blade, this results in an easier installation and cheaper too. Be certain the replacement motor has the correct voltage listed and amps as it is on the current motor.
Major signs of a laboring condenser fan motor
- The main cooling motor starts to smoke or shorts out as it is used
- An unknown rubbing or scraping sound when the cooling fan is beginning to turn
