Carrier 58MXA040F14112 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is in charge of keeping the compressor cool, when heat is removed from the house, that heat has got to be discharged into the air outside. The unit may be replaced with or without the blade, this tends to make things easier and cheaper too. Please make sure the replacement motor has the exact voltage and the same amps as it is on the current motor.
Major signs of an ailing compressor fan motor
- The cooling motor begins to smoke or throws sparks as it spins
- The Carrier motor fails to spin at all
- A terrible grating type sound when the motor is just starting
