Carrier 58MXA060F14116 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. The unit may be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this will reduce install time and a little less costly, as well. Please make sure the new motor has the same voltage and amperage listed as it is on the bad motor.
Clues of a weakening cooling fan motor
- A specific scraping sound while the cooling fan is beginning to turn
- The Carrier cooling motor fails to spin the blade
- The main cooling motor starts to smoke or throws sparks when it is spinning
