Your furnace cannot possible make any warmed air for an entire house if your heating element is unable to work as it should. The main heat element makes the air heated up before the blower has it spread out through the ducts.
Major signs the main heat element needs replacing
- The heat element does not heat up or get to max heat temp due to being worn out
- No heat is being emitted by the main system for an extended period of time
- The element does not look well, damaged and looks like it should be replaced

If you are going to be buying or ordering, do your due diligence and cross-check the correct model as well as make a visual inspection so that you are positive that the proper replacement heat element is the one being purchased.
