A thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor which has a resistance that is directly proportioned to heat. The main control board reads the temperature in several different areas to ensure that things are as they should be. They notify the circuit board when a certain temperature in increasing or decreasing.
Major indications your thermister will not last the year
- Primary blower could refuse to begin to engage full speed spinning
- The entire system may never begin because of the thermistor that is damaged
