Carrier 58MXA140 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor has an important job of cooling the outdoor compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat must be discharged into the air outside. The unit may be replaced on its own as this results in an easier installation and will reduce the costs you need to pay. Please make sure you buy a replacement motor with the similar voltage and the precise amperage as on the current fan motor.
Signals of a worsening compressor fan motor
- A constant screeching sound while the motor is turning
- The cooling motor catches fire or shorts out while it tries to spin
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn the blade
