The flame sensor is a very important part of the safety feature set that will sense the flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As with any other safety sensor, if the sensor generated a error the system remains completely shut down until obstacle is corrected.
What are the indications that my Carrier flame sensor is on its last leg?
- The furnace will operate infrequently whenever it pleases
- The propane or natural gas has a tough time trying to ignite and closes down
- Your heating system will not work and will shut everything down
