A normal limit switch has a sensor in the air handler that senses, or governs, when the air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. A limit switch was crafted because if the air is not warm enough the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
What signals that my chief limit switch is dying?
