A flame sensor is a device that will dependably sense the exact flame when the system starts. As with most safety features, when the sensor is triggered by an event the whole system stops for as long as the problem remains.
General indicators that your flame sensor is going out
- The propane or natural gas has a tough time trying to burn and shut down
- The heating system cannot start operating and will shut everything down
- System runs sometimes at the stroke of midnight after the second full moon following the second Sunday of the month
