Carrier 58MXB040F10112 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has a specific duty of keeping the compressor cool, when heat is removed from the house, that heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the necessity of buying a fan blade too, this will make it a lot easier to install and cheaper too. Just make sure you buy a replacement motor with the voltage that is the same and the same amps as it is on the bad motor.
Important signs the condenser fan motor will not live much longer
- A weird grinding sound while the motor is turning
- The Carrier motor tries but fails to turn the blade
- The compressor cooling motor smells burnt or throws sparks as it is used
