Carrier 58MXB060F10116 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, when heat is removed from the house, that heat must be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The unit may be replaced solely on its own, this results in a simpler type of replacement and it is something you can do yourself. Just make sure the new motor has the same voltage and the same amps as it is on the current motor.
Major indications to watch for in a bad compressor fan motor
- You can hear a squeaking sound when the motor slows
- The motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound while in use
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
