Carrier 58RAV Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board will determine when to initiate the defrosting phase if necessary, to defrost your outdoor unit. It relies on a temperature sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.
Hints the defrost sensor board is in dire need of a replacement
- The AC may stop running because of the frost blocking the flow of air
- Self defrost sequence does not begin even though there is a large amount of frost that needs to be removed
- The main circuit board might issue a specific error code if the defrost board fails
