Carrier 58STA04510012 Limit Switch
One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then you will never get hot air through the ducts. The limit switch is a switch in the heat exchanger that determines if and when the air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
Major clues limit switch is dead
- The Carrier system is starting to behave differently on more than one occasion
- The HVAC system is unable to start or continue to run for any length of time
