In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a varied resistance that fluctuates depending on the temperature. They can tell the heating and cooling system when the temperature reaches a certain point. The control board takes the temperature in certain areas to do its job as it should.
Warnings of a weak all-important thermister
- The heating and cooling system may not initiate the starting sequence because of the thermistor that is malfunctioning
- Blower fan could never begin to begin to engage full speed spinning
