Carrier 58STA09010016 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is responsible for cooling the compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. The unit may be replaced as a whole unit with the blade or by itself, which this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and will reduce the costs you need to pay. It is critical that you buy a replacement motor with the similar voltage and amperage listed as it is on the current motor.
Major signs the fan motor is going out
- An unpleasant grinding sound as the motor starts or stops
- The Carrier cooling motor fails to spin at all
- The cooling motor catches fire or sparks while it tries to spin
