The main heat element forces the air to be heated up before being spread through the ducts. Your furnace cannot possible make nearly enough heated air for an entire house if the heat element is faulty.
Some clues of a defective primary heating element
- There is no heat turned out by the system for an extended period of time
- Internal heat element looks bad, banged up and in need of replacement
- Furnace element has difficulty in its ability to heat up or reach max temp any longer
