The main heat element makes the air warmed prior to the blower having it distributed through the ducts. Your furnace is unable to make the heated air to efficiently heat, if your heating element does not work.
Major symptoms your primary heating element is in need of replacing
- Internal heat element does not look good, broken and about to fall apart
- The heat element does not heat up or get to max heat temp because it is probably worn out
- There is no heat made by your furnace at all
