Carrier 58TUA Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of keeping the compressor cool, this is crucial due to the large amounts of heat must be driven away. Be sure you get the proper voltage and amps as it is on the bad motor. The motor can be replaced with or without the blade, this may make it a lot easier and cheaper too.
Major signs the fan motor is on its last leg
- The Carrier motor fails to spin at all
- The main cooling motor starts to smoke or shorts out when it begins to turn
- A weird rubbing or scraping sound while the cooling fan stops
