Your furnace cannot produce the warmed air to efficiently heat, if your heating element is unable to work as it should. The main heat element allows the air to be heated up prior to being distributed through the ducts.
Red flags the main heat element has very little life left
- The heating element itself looks old, quite rusty and about to fall apart
- A shortage of heat being made by your HVAC system whatsoever
- Heating element can not get warm or reach max temp because it is probably worn out
