Carrier 62DB Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the compressor, this is crucial due to the large amounts of heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. It is important that the replacement motor has the voltage that is the same and the proper amount of amperage as it is on the bad motor. It can be replaced on its own as this will make it a lot easier to install and it is something you can do yourself.
Signals the fan motor should be replaced
- You hear a rubbing noise while the cooling fan starts or stops
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or shorts out while it is spinning
- The Carrier cooling motor does not move the blade
