Carrier EK Control Board
The control board is constructed to control everything including the gas valve, the igniter, the flame sensor as well as the blower all together. Most systems will not run without the main control board in its proper place and configured for your unit. It is imperative that you select wisely when you are choosing a replacement board due to differences in brand and air handler types. The brand of board you choose should be compatible with the brand and the model of furnace or air handler you have.
What red flags are there that my main board is not working properly?
- The entire system is unwilling to do anything properly
- When turned on, there is numbered code being shown on the circuit board
- The board has to be powered down and back up often in order to continue running
