The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. Be certain you buy a replacement motor with the correct voltage listed and amperage listed as it is on the bad motor. The motor can be replaced individually as this can make the installation go smoother and cheaper for you.
