Carrier FE5A Ignition Control Board
An ignition control board regulates the natural gas, the ignition timing and the flame sensing circuits. The ignition control board was always an important electronic safety board that has now become a part of the main control board instead of having two separate boards.
Main clues the ignition board is dying
- The electrical signal from the primary thermostat never makes contact with the Carrier control board
- HVAC ignition system is unable to fire up when it is supposed to
- Every other potential issue attached to the system checks out acceptable
