The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. The AC compressor cooling fan motor individually as this will reduce install time and reduce the price overall. Just make sure you are able to buy one with the voltage that is the same and amps as it is on the current motor.

- The cooling motor catches fire or sparks when it begins to turn
- An unknown grinding sound while the motor is starting or stopping
- The Carrier motor cannot turn the blade
