Carrier FX4CNF018000 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has a specific duty of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat energy has to be dispelled into the air. The motor can be replaced sans the blade, this may make it a lot easier and will reduce the costs you need to pay. Take the time to ensure you find one with the same voltage and amps as it is on the current motor.
What red flags are there that my fan motor is about to go out?
- The Carrier cooling motor fails to spin the blade
- A weird rubbing or scraping sound when the motor is starting or stopping
- The motor starts to smoke or shorts out while it tries to spin
