Carrier FX4CNF036000 Limit Switch
The limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that decides when the air is warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
What happens when my limit type switch really is almost dead?
- The whole system is starting to behave erratically from time to time
- Your Carrier system will not initiate or run well even though max temp has not been reached
