Carrier GT-S Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor has an important job of cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Just make certain you buy a replacement motor with the correct voltage listed and the correct amp listing as it is on the current motor. The motor can be replaced without the necessity of buying a fan blade too, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and reduce the price overall.
Signs the fan motor will die soon
- The Carrier motor does not move at all
- The motor begins to smoke or throws sparks as it spins
- You can hear a screeching sound when the cooling fan speeds up
