The defrost sensor control board will determine when to initiate an important defrosting cycle which helps to keep your outdoor unit from plugging up. The defrost sensor board is relayed information from a defrost sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.
Indications of a failing outdoor defrost sensor board
- Defrost mode has not run for quite some time even when there is a large quantity of frost in the way
- The whole system may stop running because of the safety issue that the frost poses
- Your main control board may throw an error number if the defrost control board fails
