The fan motor has the main duty of cooling the compressor, this is needed because of the heat must be discharged into the air outside. Take the time to ensure the replacement motor has the proper voltage and amps as on the current fan motor. It can be replaced without needing to replace the fan blade, this may make it a lot easier and cheaper for you.
Major signs of a dying compressor fan motor
- A specific scraping sound while the motor is starting
- The motor starts to smoke or sparks when in use
- The Carrier cooling motor fails to spin at all
