The heating element allows the air to be heated up before it is spread out throughout the house. Your furnace will not create any warmed air for an entire house if your heat element goes bad.
Major signs of a poorly working heat element
- Heating element can not get hot to the desired temperature due to being worn out
- There is a lack of heat delivered through the system at all
- Heat element does not look good, rusty and falling apart
