Carrier ZW Transformer
A transformer is very common in many household goods including your HVAC system as it is mainly used to alter electricity output to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. If you have to replace a transformer, make sure to get one that is rated for the voltage that is needed. Heating and cooling transformers are specialized devices and you should make yourself aware of the exact electrical needs.
What happens when my electrical transformer is on its last leg?
- Incorrectly sized volts is calculated from the output of the main transformer
- The main transformer shows cracks or fractures or you might notice sparking while in use
- Extremely low voltage gauged exiting the system transformer for whatever reason
