A basic electrical transformer is a simple device used in a wide variety of products which includes your forced air system as it converts a certain amount of electricity from 120V to 24V, for example. Transformers can have different specs and you must follow specific volts called for with the original. When you have to replace a transformer in the system, it would be good to get one that is assessed for the correct voltage that is demanded.
Some clues of an inadequate transformer
- Flawed voltage is calculated from the output of the chief transformer
- The main transformer shows cracks or fractures or could smell like its burning white the system is on
- No power is measured from the output of the HVAC transformer at all
