A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance is contingent on the temperature. The system control board interprets the temperature throughout the whole system to understand what is going on. They can tell the main board when a certain temperature has been reached.
Key indicators that my thermister is failing?
- The system may not initiate the starting sequence due to any one improperly set thermistor
- The blower may refuse in the attempt to begin full speed blowing
