The furnace vent motor is meant to move air and extra gases out of the furnace. Some companies call it a draft inducer blower, it provides ample air draft for a much cleaner and much safer gas combustion.A draft inducer is only one of a great many safety devices within your HVAC system.
Major warnings the primary draft inducer will eventually need to be replaced
- Plenty of power is measured arriving to the draft inducing fan motor but the motor does nothing
- Main blower does not initialize
- Main draft inducer does not do anything at some point of the starting process
