EdgeStar AP14009COM Thermistor
A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance is dependent on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The HVAC system takes the temperature in a few critical areas to make sure everything is running smoothly. They notify the system control board when a temperature reaches a certain point.
What warnings should I watch out for to know if my temp regulating thermister is in need of replacing?
- The whole HVAC system may not even start because of the broken thermistor
- Primary blower could possibly fail in its attempt to get up to full speed
