Edgestar AP10002BL Limit Switch
A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the air handler that makes the determination when the air is warmed to a point for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
What signals that my limit type switch really is in need of a replacement?
- The heating and cooling system will not initiate nor will it stay running for any length of time
- The whole system starts to shut down unexpectedly often
