Kits that convert your furnace from one source to another do not exist for every system made. They will only be obtainable for those that are built for switching. A conversion kit could allow a furnace to convert burning from a particular energy source to a different one, such as from heating oil to propane or vice versa. If you are able to find one you will probably want to have it installed by hiring someone in the HVAC field, so as to eliminate the risk of failure.
Advantages to a conversion kit for your unit
- Reduce costs of buying one type of gas versus any other while still keeping your original furnace
- Optionally being able to restore the old setup and go back previous energy source if prices get too high
