Empire Comfort Systems GWT-50-2 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will reliable sense the acceptable flame when igniting the system. As expected, if the sensor produces an error the gas valve is shut off and the system halts until the main issue is remedied.
Some clues of a faulty Empire Comfort Systems flame sensor
- The unit will start intermittently when it thinks it should
- The gas furnace refuses to fire up when it is supposed to
- The gas has difficulty trying to begin igniting and shuts itself off
