Fedders F80A Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has a unique job of keeping the compressor cool, when heat is removed from the house, that heat energy has to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The unit may be replaced on its own as this tends to make installing it easier and make it a probable DIY project. Please make sure the replacement motor has the correct voltage and amperage listed as it is on the current motor.
Simple indications of an inadequate Fedders fan motor
- The motor smells burnt makes a zapping sound as it is used
- The Fedders cooling motor fails to spin at all
- A terrible grinding noise while the cooling fan starts or stops
