A transformer is a regular occurrence in most things electrical which includes your forced air system and it converts electricity from one that is higher to a lower voltage. If one needs replacing, make sure to get one that is assessed for the correct voltage that is required. Transformers can have different specs and they should follow strict electrical needs.
Some clues the electrical transformer will have to be replaced
- Inexact volts is determined from the output of the system transformer
- The volt dropping transformer looks as if it has melted slightly or could smell like its burning when it has electricity going through it
- Zero power calculated at the output of the system transformer while using a voltmeter
