The control board is designed to regulate everything including the gas valve, the igniter, all the various sensors as well as the air circulator all together. Most systems will not run at all lest this board is correctly installed. Be absolutely sure when you are deciding on a replacement due to differences in HVAC systems. The board you select should have part numbers that match both the make and model of the system you have installed.
