A basic electrical transformer is used in many applications which also includes your heating system as it converts a certain amount of electricity to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. Transformers are all different and must adhere to strict voltage requirements. If any transformer needs to be swapped out, be sure to replace it with one that is properly rated for the voltage that is necessary.
