Friedrich P-12 Limit Switch
The limit switch has a sensor in the air handler that makes the determination when the air is warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. The main reason limit switches are made is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
How do you know when your chief limit switch is not working properly?
- The system is beginning to initiate and then stops time after time
- The HVAC system refuses to start or will not stay running longer than 10 minutes
