Friedrich P12B-A Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, when heat is removed from the house, that heat has got to be dissipated. Please make sure the new motor has the correct voltage and the same amps as on the current fan motor. The motor can be replaced on its own without the blade, this tends to make installing it easier and will reduce the costs you need to pay.
Major symptoms to watch for in a failing condenser fan motor
- The Friedrich cooling motor fails to spin at all
- A distinct grinding sound when the motor is turning
- The cooling motor begins to smoke or throws sparks as it turns
