In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a fluctuating resistance that is governed by current temperature. The system must know the temp in certain areas to do its job correctly. They notify the system when a temperature reaches a certain point.
Red flags your all-important thermister needs replacing
- Blower fan may refuse in its attempt to ramp up
